He was born in 1942 in Kovanlık village of Konya. He completed his primary and secondary education in this city. He graduated from Istanbul Islamic Institute. As an academic of Sufism for 40 years at Dokuz Eylul University. He worked at the Faculty of Theology. He has been living in Izmir since 1970. He has published more than 20 books in his field, some of which are published by Nefes.
